To Build Our Empire We Have To Give Thanks Daily
First, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving for those reading this in the US and especially those away from their families serving and protecting us either in our communities or abroad!
Being a 20 year veteran first responder there are many holidays I had to spend away from my loved ones and sat with my partner and the crew hoping that the tones would never go off but, knowing it was soon that we would hear them and be rushing to the next emergency hoping for a good outcome. The one thing during those holidays that I can be personally thankful for was I got to come home safe after every shift!
Being Thankful and giving thanks in business can be plentiful and a long list. But, I believe that giving Thanks is also a part of your entrepreneur mindset and building a better you. One simple Thank you or compliment to a person can go a long, long way!! I can tell you that during my EMS career I literally could count the thanks on my fingers! Our society has gotten away from building others up and are more into their entitlement and how it will benefit them. And out of that handful of thanks I had receive only two I can remember like it was yesterday and the impact they made will last a life time.
Don’t just go out now and thank everyone, because that will be the same as not giving any. Make the thanks and gratitude meaningful. Be specific with your thanks and make it something the person will remember! Make it even personal, it’s easy in weight-loss or maybe you have a new team member. Build them up on your team or in a company page, so them the respect and thanks! So many, corporations never reward or acknowledge the great efforts their employees go to, to better the company they work for. I believe that being an entrepreneur has a big advantage as we see the growth a person has or the achievements they reach because we as entrepreneurs are looking for those little or big achievements and should be ready to give them the credit and thanks! It’s a simple as:
“John Smith, I am so happy you achieved the rank of Director in X Days and I am honored to have you on our team!”
That just took me less than a minute to type but can make a substantial impact on “John’s” life and business. Maybe he never got acknowledge like that before at his employer and now you’re taking that step and building “John” up!!
Giving thanks is such a simple but lost art! People love to get little thanks messages or posts on social media about what they have accomplished in their business! Those little tasks done daily will only help you grown your business, keep retention, and build your brand.
